Andrew Maj was at MHS 1976-1979, then went to Melbourne University. He has over 20 years experience in the Australian entertainment industry as an actor, comedic performer, writer and producer.

His on camera roles include feature films such as Evil Angels and Takeway, Television serials including Blue Heelers and MDA, and sketch comedy roles in Fast Forward, The Comedy Company and The Russell Gilbert Show to name a few.

Off camera Andrew is a credited writer and producer. His creative input has helped propel the careers of numerous accomplished comedic performers. He was a creative consultant, producer and writer for Hey Hey It’s Saturday and Dancing With The Stars. He is a writer for Ch7’s new sketch show Double Take and has just worked as a producer for The Osbournes: Reloaded, screening on the FOX Network USA.

He started his career writing for The Comedy Company and then moved on to join main writing teams on Fast Forward, Full Frontal, The Wedge, Comedy Inc, The Russell Gilbert Show and Russell Gilbert Was Here. Andrew has also written and provided creative for the special events including The Logies and Australian Dancesport Championships, as well as directing and producing numerous corporate programs with his production company Maze Productions.
Andrew has also acted in and produced stage productions and radio comedy segments for Austereo. A versatile and sensitive performer, Andrew can play a range of everyday characters through the more animated and cartoony style roles. His voice over range is also diverse from corporate through to stylised characterisation.

September Luncheon: Mr Jon Faine (MHS 1974)

In June 2008 ABC Radio host Jon Faine and his son, Jack, left their jobs, studies, family and friends, took six months and fulfilled a long-held dream to drive overland from Melbourne to London. From Here to There is their intelligent and funny account of a father and son odyssey: 39,321 kilometres in their 4x4 across twenty countries, including some of the least-visited places on Earth.
