Luncheon Seminar 1-1: Nhat Tran (MHS 2007)
Tuesday 16 February 2010
Nhat Tran (MHS exit 2007)

Dentistry - the experience so far

I graduated from MHS in 2007 and I am currently studying Dentistry at LaTrobe University. I am a proud Como-dian and was involved with Chorales during my time at MHS. I’ve always had a passion for the Health Sciences field – whether from my own aspiration or from my brain-washing parents, I do not know. Nevertheless, my established interest for Health Sciences was reaffirmed by my affinity for sciences during VCE. I am thoroughly enjoying my course.

My talk will be split into three sections each about 7-10minutes with time for question and answers. A bit about myself and why I chose Dentistry. The transition between secondary and tertiary education, what Dentistry involves and a rough outline of what the course involves. The academic requirements, alternative paths of entry and career opportunity upon graduation.

Like any other course or career field, it ultimately comes down to your own interest. If you are genuinely passionate for a particular course, you will do very well.

September Luncheon: Mr Jon Faine (MHS 1974)
7 September 2010

In June 2008 ABC Radio host Jon Faine and his son, Jack, left their jobs, studies, family and friends, took six months and fulfilled a long-held dream to drive overland from Melbourne to London. From Here to There is their intelligent and funny account of a father and son odyssey: 39,321 kilometres in their 4x4 across twenty countries, including some of the least-visited places on Earth.

Bookings are now very tight and will close at 10.00am Friday 3rd September.
