The Verma Family Medicine & Health Sciences Scholarship will be awarded annually to a selected MHS Old Boy undergraduate student undertaking a second year and above health related degree course in any recognised Australian University. The scholarship will consist of a one off payment of $3000 and a framed certificate. Recipients of this award are not eligible to apply in subsequent years. One scholarship will be granted each year. It will be awarded following written application in which the student outlines their current career aspirations in the fields of Medicine or Health Sciences. Applicants are specifically requested to outline their interests in the field of teaching and health promotion throughout the community in their supporting statement. Successful applicants will be short listed and required to undertake a substantial interview. Only those students who have achieved outstanding first year scores and are currently enrolled in post first year studies of an undergraduate degree in a recognised Australian University should apply. Consideration will be given to those candidates who can demonstrate how the scholarship would assist in diminishing the financial hardship of their course (evidence of financial hardship must be attached to application form). The scholarship will generally be paid to the student in one payment. The application form and further details are attached. Applications close on Friday 27 July 2012.
