Members of the Melbourne High School community are invited to attend the C. J. Breen Memorial House Choral & Instrumental Competition to be held at the Melbourne Town Hall on Thursday March 21st. This exciting musical event is a highlight of the Cock House competition and unique to Melbourne High School in that every student participates in the house massed choirs. No tickets are required. MHS old boys are invited to come and remember battles past and see how the current students measure up.
The Instrumental Competition commences at 9.30 am and will be followed by a brief interval. The Choral Competition commences at 11.30 am and will conclude at 1.30 pm. Last year Waterloo won the instrumental competition, and Forrest was victorious in the chorals. Waterloo has won chorals only one once in the last 25 years, and Como only twice. Will it be their turn this year or will Yarra reassert the dominance that has seen it win six times in the last decade? Or perhaps Forrest will go back to back. It promises to be a hard fought competition with some wonderfully talented instrumentalists and truly glorious massed singing on show.
