In 2009 we are again delighted to team up with Gary and Ken McBean (Gary's Meats) for their delicious Christmas smallgoods. They have been quality butchers to MHSOBA at Prahran Market for the past 14 years.

Their fresh sausages are all GLUTEN FREE (except Spanish Chorizo), as are all the mouth-watering succulent Christmas Hams.

There is a small change in price for 2009 but all the offers represent ouitstanding value for quality product.

Your orders will benefit the School, and its current students, through the MHS Old Boys’ Association. It forms part of our overall fundraising program.

ALL PRODUCTS GLUTEN FREE except Spanish Chorizo sausages and Beef Hamburgers.

Read the description of the items provided below. Then complete the order form attached and either

• detach, fold and post with stamp to MHSOBA, as stated on the reverse, OR

• detach and fax back to MHSOBA on 03 9827 0257, OR

• email to mhsoba@mhsoba.asn.au  OR

• return to the School Office, OR

• send via the order form on the web site

Orders close on Friday 11 Dec ‘09.

Collection from MHSOBA Scoreboard Pavilion, adjacent to the Woodfull-Miller Oval, with vehicle entrance off Claremont Street. Office phone 03 9824 0480.

The Product

McBean's Christmas Hams

Ham on the Bone
Leg of pork mildly cured, smoked and then cooked. This process ensures full flavour and succulence.

Full ham on the bone sizes average around 10kg, but can be ordered between 8 and 12 kg.

Half ham on the bone sizes are generally between
4 and 7 kg.

Smoked Prager Ham
A boneless ham cooked from the leanest parts of the leg, then midly cured, smoked and cooked. The fat has been removed, but the rind left to maintain juiciness. Easy to carve. Prager hams generally weigh in at about 3kg to 6kg, with an average weight of 4.5kg.

Gypsy Ham
Double smoked boneless ham with natural juices, extra trimmed.Average size around 1.5kg - 3.0kg.

Gypsy Nut Ham
Small trimmed leg cut of pork, double smoked, cured and very lean. Sizes around 1.0kg. Ideal for Christmas gifts or hampers.

McBean's Gourmet Sausages

McBean’s Gourmet Sausages are gluten free with the exception of the Spanish Chorizo.
The packs of 4 sausages are approximately 450 grams.
Sausages are on a sturdy tray with plastic shrink wrapping. They are freshly made and can be refrigerated or frozen for later use.

Plain Thick BBQ.

Pork & Bacon. 100% lean pork.

English Pork. 100% lean pork.

Tomato & Onion. 100% beef.

Cornish. 100% beef, carrots, peas, corn.

Honey Lamb & Rosemary. 100% lamb.

Lamb Spinach & Pinenuts. 100% lean lamb.

Continental. 50% pork, 50% beef.

Hot Continental. 50% pork, 50% beef.

Spanish Chorizo. 100% beef (not gluten free).

McBean's BBQ Hamburgers

BBQ Hamburgers. 100% lean beef, carrots, parsley, onions.  (Not gluten free).

Served in packets of 4, plastic shrink wrapped.

September Luncheon: Mr Jon Faine (MHS 1974)

In June 2008 ABC Radio host Jon Faine and his son, Jack, left their jobs, studies, family and friends, took six months and fulfilled a long-held dream to drive overland from Melbourne to London. From Here to There is their intelligent and funny account of a father and son odyssey: 39,321 kilometres in their 4x4 across twenty countries, including some of the least-visited places on Earth.
